Our Astrology Calculations and Quiz Methodology
Understand approximate planetary positions, zodiac angles, editorial scores, quiz categories and calculation limits.
Free tools do not calculate paid synastry scores
Our free astrology tools offer limited Sun-sign symbolism, an approximate Moon-phase comparison, Pythagorean name numerology and side-by-side self-reported preferences. They do not generate personal cross-planet aspects, house overlays, Ascendants, composite maps or trust-and-love ratings that could contradict a purchased AstroSynth report.
Sun-sign and birth-date methods
The Zodiac Compatibility Calculator accepts two selected tropical Sun signs and describes their conventional elemental or modality groups. The Birth Date Compatibility Calculator estimates each Sun sign from a calendar date and reports traditional categories, not the probability of romance. Date-only zodiac boundaries are approximate, and detailed placements are outside this free site's scope.
Moon-phase calculations
The Moon Phase Soulmate Calculator estimates lunar illumination and phase based on simplified solar and lunar longitudes. Its illuminated-fraction percentages describe the Moon, never romantic compatibility. Simplified orbital methods are approximate and should not be confused with licensed precision ephemerides.
Relationship preference calculators
The Love Compatibility, Marriage Compatibility, Soulmate Compatibility and Friendship Compatibility calculators use four pairs of independently selected ratings. The visible response differences are arithmetic comparisons of what two people reported. They are not psychological diagnostics, verified couple scores or natal synastry interpretations.
Name numbers and the Love Calculator
The Pythagorean name calculation maps Latin letters to values one through nine and reduces the sums. This is a traceable numerology convention, but neither names nor reduction values measure love. The Love Calculator compares six independent one-to-five relationship preferences; its similarity index shows only answer distance, not the probability of loving someone.
How the ten-question tests work
Tests have four answer options per question. Each response contributes to one of four reflection categories, and the leading category is based on the most selected answers. The quizzes have no right-answer key and are not clinically validated.
What the paid Synastry Report adds
AstroSynth offers a separate paid report that explores a broader set of birth-chart information. The free calculators never claim to reproduce its calculations. Astrology does not have scientific validation as a predictor of a relationship's outcome.
